„Refeudalization“: Analyzing a Paradoxical Mode of Social Change in Present-Day Capitalist Societies

This project applies the concept of “refeudalization” as introduced by Jürgen Habermas in his inquiry on the “Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere” to the analysis of social change in presentday capitalist societies. The aim of this theoretical project is to develop a sociological framework that allows us to explore the paradoxical mode of social change that leads to pre-modern societal patterns as a result of modernization.
