Distinguished Guests

Guests of the Institute have been invited to be a fellow here at the IWM to carry out their own research. Invitations are extended by the IWM Kollegium, which is made up of our Rector and Permanent Fellows.

  • Albert Hirschman Fellowship Awarded to distinguished senior scholars, who have contributed to re-framing some of the major questions in the social science.
  • Democracy Fellowship Democracy Fellowship
  • Guests of the Institute These fellowships are offered by invitation of the IWM Kollegium
  • IHS Fellowship Awarded to outstanding scholars in the social sciences, jointly with the Institut für Höhere Studien
  • Krzysztof Michalski Fellowship Fellowships awarded to scholars in the fields of philosophy and theology in memory of the IWM's Founder.
  • Ukraine in European Dialogue Sheptyts'kyi Fellowship Andriy Sheptyts'kyi Senior Fellowships in this program are offered to outstanding international scholars in the fields of public ethics, religion and politics are granted by invitation only.
  • Ukraine in European Dialogue Solidarity Fellowship Fellowships offered to notable scholars from Ukraine whose work has been disrupted by war.
  • World Literature Fellowship for Translators Supporting translators in their translation of key works of literature
  • Yehuda Elkana Fellowship Awarded annually to a scholar or public thinker of international importance who exhibits a wide-ranging and exuberant intellectual curiosity.
