Project:
Jan Patočka as a Political Thinker and Charter 77 as a Social Movement: The Origins of a New Politics in a Non-Western Context
This research project focuses on Jan Patočka and studies him as a political thinker who influenced the “antipolitical” strategy and identity of the dissident movement Charter 77. The aim is to understand this phenomenon as part of the cleavage in post-1960s New Politics, which includes the interclass struggle between technocrats and humanist intellectuals. For greater plasticity regarding this Western context, the research includes a comparison to the political humanism of Hannah Arendt.
