Project:
Urban Theory North by East/West
My project examines, through the analysis of the urban, the potential of ‘Southern theory’ for the renewal of critical theory. It demonstrates how the internal division between East and West complicates the urban theory of the North and argues for a lesser role for geographical metaphors in social theory. It moves on to propose a more general theoretical framework informed by the critique of global capitalism.
