Social Exclusion of Older Persons. A Comparative Analysis

My project examines the social exclusion of older people in today‘s society. During the crisis of development in Russia at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, standards of living declined for the majority of the population, and particularly for older age groups. Furthermore, growing social and economic inequality between different re-gions often complicates the work of social service institutions, especially in the agricultural and agro-industrial zones. The comparative study of social attitudes, approaches, and policies in Europe and Russia will be used to broaden the theoretical and methodological basis of the study of social exclusion of older persons.
