This study constructs an anthropological history of entitlement and privilege as bound to affect and memory in contemporary India (and beyond). It addresses, in its own way, the IWM's research focus on "Decent Society". It does so by focusing on enactments of entitlement, renderings of memory, performances of privilege, economies of affect, and usages of capital - and their attendant genealogies - that, implicitly and explicitly, raise wider questions of injustice and justice in the contemporary worlds.
