The art that appeared in Ukraine during the war carries with it special narratives, and forms special aesthetics and cultural values. It is a unique voice of Ukrainians who are trying to inform the world about the tragedy they are experiencing by using the universal language of culture. Art creates––at a time when everything around is collapsing. The research will aim to analyze Ukrainian wartime art through the prism of aesthetic theory (with particular focus on the work of Roman Ingarden) and performative studies.

This fellowship is generously funded by the City of Vienna.
