Alexander M. Etkind specializes in intellectual history, Russian studies and in the History of Literature. His current work focuses on
Sects, lntelligentsia and Revolution: Popular Sectarianism. Models of Rationality, and Literary Discourse in Prerevolutionary Russia.
Recent publications include: The Psychology of PostTotalitarianism in Russia, London 1992 (together with Leonid Gozman); Eros des Unmöglichen. Die Geschichte der Psychoanalyse in Rußland, Leipzig 1996.
