In recent years, selective renationalization of previously privatized firms is a phenomenon visible in many contexts that seem to follow the trend of backsliding of democracies and the rise of illiberalism. However, we still know little about the political rationale behind renationalization. In this project, I build on embeddedness scholarship and use the social network approach to investigate the role of political party-business networks in the process of renationalization in post-Milošević Serbia.
