The project is dedicated to a systematic description of Ukrainian language enclaves outside the administrative boundaries of Ukraine (both the Eastern and Central European ones), including the history of their formation, today’s language and cultural situation, the degree of their preservation or assimilation, the interaction with contact languages, and the role of the Ukrainian dialects in preserving Ukrainians’ national identity abroad.
