During his fellowship, Martin Krygier will work on three interrelated projects: (1) a book on the underlying ideal, the point, of the rule of law, provisional title "The Rule of Law. Bridle of Power"; (2) an ongoing project on populism and constitutionalism. A part of the project, "Anti-Constitutional Populism" (eds. Martin Krygier, Adam Czarnota and Wojciech Sadurski) is in press and due to be published by Cambridge University Press during the period of the fellowship; (3) a paper for a symposium on The Rule of Law in Transnational Context. A draft is to be presented at the 2022 Global Meeting on Law & Society in Lisbon in July, in preparation for a symposium on that subject at UC Irvine, in September, and subsequent book publication. Krygier will draw on the resources of the IWM and its proximity to several countries discussed in these projects, and presence in the EU, for all three projects.
