Following observations on religious anthropology, Rémi Brague examines the sacred books in order to see how religion and politics are being philosophically articulated. In Judaism, the Law is the only presence of God among his people. In Christianity, God separates from the Law and becomes the source of human consciousness. In Islam, the Law stands at the centre of everything and it is God who must directly dictate it.
