In Zeiten vor der digitalen Bildbearbeitung war er unersetzliches Hilfsmittel der Reproduktion und besonders der technischen Zeichnung. Wie vielleicht kein zweites Ding auf der Welt steht der Pantograph symbolisch für die Fotokunst des Andrej Kasík. Auch Kasík ist ein analoger „Alleszeichner“, der in seinen Fotos die Welt auf geheimnisvolle Weise spiegelt, dupliziert, Großes reduziert oder in der Vergrößerung der Details Neues erscheinen lässt. The talk argued that a history of the binary juxtaposition between a majority and one or several minorities suggests that it is both a recent neologism and an essentially contested conceptual couple.
