What does it mean to mark three years of full-scale war in Ukraine? For the IWM, it is a moment to reaffirm its solidarity with Ukraine and its commitment to advancing research on Ukrainian history, politics, and culture. Through our Ukraine in European Dialogue and Documenting Ukraine programs, we support Ukrainian scholars and examine the many dimensions of Ukrainian society.

On this day, we seek to amplify the voices of the Ukrainians we have supported. Current UiED Visiting Fellow Natalia Dziadyk shares her reflections on the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion, while the IWM’s Documenting Ukraine Team highlights the significance of Ukrainian resistance and the important role that war documentation initiatives—each a small act of resistance—play in preserving Ukraine’s story.
