This project aims at understanding digitalization by means of a non-standard interpretation of the Turing test: A machine could be called “thinking” if it were capable of permanently deceiving a human observer. The Cartesian idea behind all of modern (Western) thinking, however, was to methodically avoid all deception. What are the implications of the digital rehabilitation of deception for the global colonization of the world by the Cartesian type of modern (Western) science and technology?
