After 1989, Romania witnessed nostalgia for both the Interwar and the communist periods. The aim of my research is to examine how these competing regimes of nostalgia have influenced the reconstructions of the Romanian recent past and moreover, how they have informed and inspired the blueprints for the post-communist future.
