My research studies Portuguese decolonization as a point of entry into an era of major change when the histories of anti-racist advocacy and anti-colonialism were rapidly converging. I am interested in how this period was marked by a profound transformation of European-dominated international relations and diplomatic cultures to accommodate the aspirations, claims and agendas of an emerging Global South.
