In my project, I tackle the question how, if at all, the commodity model of knowledge may be reconciled with a meaningful and relatable notion of the academic community. The aim is to reclaim the concept of solidarity for the academia and offer a perspective that is firmly grounded in the philosophical reflection but at the same time attests to the specific characteristics of neo-liberal higher education.

I am planning to pursue research on Krzysztof Michalski’s texts and their relevance to the current public debate on European values and the future of democracy. Michalski’s hermeneutical and phenomenological approach will be of particular importance to me, as I am aiming to show in the forthcoming edition of his works that these two philosophical attitudes continue to impact our culture and the way we understand it.
