Rescue is a feature-length documentary about Ukrainian and international volunteers who risk their lives to evacuate animals—including companion and farm animals—from the frontlines of Ukraine.
The film follows several rescue teams who work under shelling, navigate mined roads, and enter destroyed towns to save animals left behind during the full-scale invasion. Through intimate access and firsthand footage, Rescue highlights the courage, moral complexity, and emotional weight of this work.
The project aims to document an overlooked humanitarian dimension of the war—the rescue of animals during conflict—and to preserve these stories as part of Ukraine’s contemporary history.
