I am working on a book about the impact of the crisis on Central Europe and especially Poland. Alongside with Germany, Poland arguably belongs to the winners of the crisis, for its position has significantly improved despite initial predictions to the effect that Central Europe would suffer most. However, the economic and political implosion of the old EU core raises fundamental questions about the future of Central Europe, which is thus being deprived of its long-standing model.
