The IWM warmly congratulates Ruth Wodak, an exceptional scholar of political discourse and the radical right, who will receive the prestigious Bruno Kreisky Prize for for her lifetime achievements (publications and research [publizistisches Gesamtwerk]).

Ruth Wodak has done groundbreaking work on Austrian and European identity politics, Austrian politics of the past, racism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia. Her scholarly work has contributed much not only to linguistic analysis but also to a lasting understanding of far-right and right-wing populist discourse and politics. As a humanist and feminist, she has contributed courageously to socio-political debate throughout her academic life.
