The IWM is happy to announce that Marci Shore, Associate Professor of History at Yale University, who will be back as a Visiting Fellow at the IWM in summer 2018, has been awarded a fellowship by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

Another winner of the Guggenheim Fellowship is Irena Grudzinska Gros, co-leader of our former expository in Boston (2002 – 2010).

The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation was established by U.S. Senator Simon Guggenheim and his wife in 1925 as a memorial to a son who died April 26, 1922. The foundation offers fellowships to further the development of scholars and artists by assisting them to engage in research in any field of knowledge and creation in any of the arts, under the freest possible conditions and irrespective of race, color, or creed.
