Ladislav Klíma’s first work of philosophy, The World as Consciousness and Nothing, outlines his unique worldview, setting out his position with respect to Berkeley, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. It posits the external world as a series of mental states and consciousness as substance–matter is a state of mind, time and causality are fictions, nothing exists. The motivation behind all phenomena is the will, a positive, life-asserting force.
