The irregular residential status of migrants is a result of the legal norms adopted by states. The aim of this project is to legally deconstruct the status of irregularity. On the one hand it will therefore provide a concept of the residential status of irregularity and regularisation measures and analyze the current state of the European Union Law regarding irregular immigration. On the other hand the project compares the different legal regulations of Austria, Germany and Spain and their societal consequencest further seeks to explore whether regularisation measures to “combat” and control irregular migration on EU level are legally possible and how they could be implemented effectively.
