Ula Idzikowska

FellowshipsUla Idzikowska explores Poland’s transformation from a nation characterized by emigration to an emerging destination for immigrants. Her non-fiction book will shine a light on the lives of immigrants from third countries and returning Poles who have chosen to rebuild their lives in their homeland. Idzikowska’s journalistic project delves into their journeys of integration, the challenges they encounter, and the contributions they make to the fabric of contemporary Polish society. At the same time, it offers a critical lens on how Polish politicians have harnessed migration in populist rhetoric, shaping public discourse and national identity. By weaving together individual stories with broader political and social analysis, “New Beginnings” offers a nuanced portrait of a nation in transition—one grappling with the realities of multiculturalism and (re)integration.
