This project delves into the complex and largely unexplored phenomenon of 'filtration' in the Russo-Ukrainian War. It seeks to unravel this practice as distinct from internment, focusing on its legal and humanitarian implications. By analyzing firsthand accounts from the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group and applying international humanitarian and human rights laws, the study aims to reveal the depth of filtration's impact on civilians, potentially reshaping our understanding of civilian rights and legal protections in modern warfare.
