Flowers of Mars

Flowers of Mars is a documentary podcast that explores how Ukrainian society is shaping a new culture of memory in the context of the full-scale war. Through the lens of daily military burials in Lviv, the project documents the transformation of rituals, emerging forms of commemoration, and attitudes toward death. The podcast combines narrative storytelling, on-site documentary sound recordings, expert commentary, and historical context—creating an audio archive of memory.

The aim of the project is to preserve voices, testimonies, rituals, and meanings that often remain outside the scope of official history. The aim is for the podcast to become not only a media product, but also an ethical instrument of remembrance. It is expected that the podcast will foster public dialogue about how to honor the fallen, support families who have lost loved ones, and serve as a source of understanding for future generations.
