Sonic Waves

The Sonic Waves project explores sound as a multifaceted phenomenon, focusing on its psychological, emotional, and even physiological impact on individuals in times of war. In today’s world, where the acoustic environment can be both a source of anxiety and a means of comfort, it is important to understand how sound influences consciousness, the subconscious, and overall mental health. During wartime, sound takes on a special significance: thunder is associated with explosions; a motorcycle is a Shahed drone; sirens are replaced by the silence that follows shelling. Conversely, music can help preserve inner balance. All of these elements shape a unique soundscape of reality. The aim of the project is not only to document these acoustic experiences, but also to reinterpret them, exploring ways in which sound can be used as a tool for therapy, healing, and adaptation to stressful conditions.
