The Documenting Ukraine program is pleased to announce its 2025 grantee cohort.
During the latest grant cycle, the IWM has awarded 111 Documenting Ukraine grants. The cohort is made up of 86 first-time recipients as well as 25 previous awardees who are continuing their work or embarking on a new project.
This year’s cohort includes a range of methodologically and topically diverse projects that seek to document and represent different facets of life amid the Russo-Ukrainian War. In the spirit of building up the future Documenting Ukraine archive, a significant number of projects selected in 2025 are concerned with matters of preservation and commemoration. A list of Documenting Ukraine grantees selected during the 2025 cycle is available via the following link.
Launched in March 2022, Documenting Ukraine has awarded 575 grants to Ukrainian academics, journalists, archivists, writers, artists, and filmmakers. Over four years into the war, we remain committed to supporting work that chronicles Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
