A short documentary portrait of a Ukrainian photographer. The film focuses on observing her work with a family coping with the loss of a loved one. The camera remains fixed solely on the photographer’s face, capturing her reactions to the stories she hears, while the surrounding events are revealed only through the photographs she takes.
The project explores the impact of continuous exposure to trauma on the person documenting it. Its structure is minimalistic: preparation for the shoot, the act of photographing, and the return to reality once the shoot is complete. Through close observation of the protagonist, the film traces a subtle inner transformation that occurs in the encounter with another’s grief.
