Caring for the Future: Lviv as a Rehabilitation Center

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the lives of millions of people have been threatened, and thousands of civilians have been injured as a result of rocket attacks, aerial bombardments, and the artillery shelling of settlements in different parts of our country. Many of them were forced to leave their homes and look for a safer place to live, to restore their physical and emotional state. In this situation, the western city of Lviv has become not only a key transit hub, but also a kind of rehabilitation center.
The objective of the project is to document the processes and results of the response of the city authorities and the community of Lviv to the challenges related to activities concerned with the physical and psychological recovery of persons affected by Russian military aggression.
The project implementation involves conducting oral history interviews with representatives of municipal services, public and charitable organizations, and volunteers who are somehow involved in the medical and psychological rehabilitation of various categories of the population, their support and socialization.
