Documenting Ukraine Grants

Kherson in the Russian-Ukrainian War, 2022

The project is focused on documenting and understanding the events happening in Kherson since March 1, 2022. I was surprised by the strength and duration of the Kherson citizens’ peaceful resistance. It proves that 30 years of Ukrainian nation-building were not wasted.
The components of the project are as follows:
1. Writing a diary on the changes in everyday life in Kherson since the March 1, 2022. The diary will be translated into English and submitted for publication in Ukrainian media.
2. Media monitoring of the news and analytical materials devoted to Kherson, creating a personal media archive.
3. Preparing a paper covering the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war from the Kherson perspective with a focus on the everyday life changes, flashpoints of war, the destruction of the city and local administration decisions.
