Mykolaiv’s water crisis, a direct consequence of the war, has left hundreds of thousands without a stable supply, severely impacting humanitarian and environmental security. Chronicles of Thirst documents the devastating effect of the conflict on this critical resource, vital for urban resilience and recovery.
The project employs a dual approach: scientific analysis and human documentation. It involves systematic hydrochemical analysis of water sources, correlating data of unique quality with wartime events. Concurrently, residents' survey is being conducted, capturing the lived experience of the community.
Key outcomes include a comprehensive analytical report and evidence-based recommendations for sustainable water management. The findings will directly inform post-war recovery strategies and contribute to the historical record of the war’s environmental and humanitarian impacts.
