Tortured

Tortured is a documentary film about survivors of torture by Russian occupiers in the Kherson region. During the occupation, more than a thousand residents of the region suffered through inhuman torture in one of the eleven Russian torture chambers. The Russian military took not only former JFO (Joint Forces Operation) soldiers, but also ordinary civilians. What was the reason for the torture? What happened in the dark chambers? How did the survivors cope? The aim of the project is to give those people who returned from captivity a chance to be heard by society, as well as document and artistically reimagine the event in the form of a documentary film.
