Project:

The Biography of Józef Tischner

I am writing a popular, journalistic biography of Józef Tischner, the Polish philosopher, public activist, and author of The Ethics of Solidarity (1981). Tischner was one of the most influential intellectuals of Central and Eastern Europe in the late 20th century. The biography will be based on documents and interviews with people who knew and collaborated with Tischner (in Poland, Austria, and France).
