Project:

Parenting Beyond the Social and Cultural Divide in Turkey

With the aim of overcoming the socially and culturally polarized understanding of contemporary Turkey through a study of parenting practices and values of religious and secular middle class families, this research, based on in-depth semi-structured interviews, tries to find out the values and meanings middle class parents attach to parenting, their priorities in raising children and how and according to what guidelines and criteria they navigate the schooling scene.
