(Re)Membering War Victims.
Commemoration Practices and Divided Memory of Victimization in Post-War Croatia

My project examines the post-war period in Croatia and the role that victim identities played during the reconciliation process. I shall approach this topic by looking at the ways in which war victims are publicly remembered (or forgotten). My research will mainly focus on official commemorative practices and monuments, but I shall also look at those monuments that sparked controversies because they are dedicated to victims that the general public does not perceive as deserving to be remembered.
