Ukraine and the New European Order
This project considers the dialogue between Europe and Ukraine within the broader context of common values and historical memory. More specifically, it will look at the formation of a new political identity of Ukraine in the process of post-Communist transformation. Because the past played a central role in the new Ukrainian political identity that emerged, the project will have a particular focus on the role of specific historical memory and how it simultaneously coincided with, contributed to, challenged, and contradicted the formation of a new European and global political order.
