Founding Myth and Political Order

Tuesday, 27 March 2012, 2:00pm - 4:00pm, IWM library

Seminar “Faces of Eastern Europe”

In normative political theory of Carl Friedrich, the founding myth is defined as a prerequisite for forming a functional and stable political community. It will try to interpret the analysis of the basic forms of the founding myth of Croatia “Patriotic War” and the founding myth of Serbia “Kosovo myth”.

The main focus of analysis will be the structure of these myths and their function in establishing a basic consensus that enables or disables the formation of democratic political community.
