Between A Rock and A Hard Place –
The Ever-Changing Face of Europe
The proposed project is based on the first hand in-depth investigation on the constant metamorphosis of the idea of “Europe” in the eyes of those who were, often hopelessly, striving towards it. It is also an analysis of how the process of integration—slow, uneven and uncertain—affects their intimate perception of it. I am mostly speaking of the experience of the common people from the south-east Europe, especially those from the western parts of the Balkan peninsula, the so-called post-Yugoslavs.
