What does climate change have to do with social justice? What did a Habsburg prince plan for the Ukraine? Why is the poll in the US lower than in Europe? What are the master narratives of secularity in modernity? – all these are topics of the lectures at the IWM. All of them have one goal in common: they want to convey current findings in the social sciences and the humanities to a broader public. Individual lectures are related to one of the research fields of the Institute, whereas the lecture series explore a specific topic over a longer period.

Vorträge

Was der Klimawandel mit Gerechtigkeit zu tun hat, welche Pläne ein habsburgischer Prinz für die Ukraine hatte, warum die Wahlbeteiligung in den USA geringer ist als in Europa, welche Narrative der Säkularisierung es in der Moderne gibt – das sind nur einige der Themen der Vorträge am IWM. Ihnen allen gemeinsam ist, dass sie aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften an eine breite Öffentlichkeit vermitteln wollen. Neben den einzelnen Vorträgen, die sich auf einen der Schwerpunkte des Instituts beziehen, veranstaltet das IWM auch Vortragsreihen, die sich spezifischen Themen über einen längeren Zeitraum widmen.
