What is the enduring “spirit” of Europe, and how can its rediscovery guide the continent through its current challenges and toward a more meaningful future? Sedláček argues that Europe has been “bereft of spirit during the last decade,” focusing instead on “economy, legislation, roaming, and bureaucracy,” but is now “discovering its spirit.” His project seeks to articulate this evolving spirit.
