The project’s goal is to produce a series of articles analyzing the personal stories of sex workers in Hungary, and in Eastern Europe more generally, from an intersectional viewpoint combining human rights, social rights and legislative perspectives. Avoiding the still common ‘poverty porn‘, it aims to show sex workers in their complexity instead, their vulnerabilities, mistakes and strengths. The essays will then be assembled into a book covering sex workers‘ issues starting from Hungary, following migration experiences towards Western Europe, and in comparison with other countries in the region, in particular Romania and Ukraine.
