Thursday, 9 April 2015, 4:00pm - 5:30pm, IWM library
Contradictions and tensions between the basic principles of democracy, particularly between values of freedom, equality and justice, find expression in the conflict between neo-liberal and neo-populist political orientations. This presentation aims to deepen our understanding of the global political stage and to enable us to face up to new political realities by analyzing the false solutions to the current crisis of democracy offered by neo-liberalism and neo-populism, respectively.
