Is Science Value-free?

Wednesday, 11 April 2012, 5:00pm - 6:00pm, IWM library

Fellows’ Seminar

Can scientists choose and justify their theories without any recourse to values from moral, social, political context in which science is done? Starting from a recent case-study of a particular science- value-interaction within evolutionary biology, the talk aims to explore and discuss some aspects of Helen Longino’s Philosophy of Science.
