In the last 30 years the Gdansk Shipyard stood as an example of political mobilisation and change. In the course of time, it became a monument, in which the political protest and claims for social equality have been petrified and slowly forgotten. I would like to examine various forms of nostalgia that came to life within and after the political transformation and to see, how a rebirth of political agency in the contemporary precarious condition is mobilized in feminist and radical critical social theories dismantling the melancholic aesthetisation of ruins.
